Behavior & Personality

Purple Firefish are gentle, active hoverers that spend their day perching, darting, and hovering in the water column. They are naturally shy but adapt quickly in a calm, stable reef environment. A tight-fitting lid is a must—these fish are known jumpers.

Feeding

They readily accept a variety of small meaty foods, including:

• Mysis shrimp

• Brine shrimp

• Calanus

• Finely chopped seafood

• High-quality marine pellets
